Well blog-land, 2012 is upon us and to be honest, last year was one we’d mostly rather forget. There were a few highlights, but it was a year that saw more setbacks for us in our quest for world domination.
The two main highlights were spread out, one early in the year, and one just before the calender clicked over to 2012.The first being that we were joined by Raymond Temperley on guitar. Ray is taking the lead songwriting duties on with gusto, and is really banging out sone killer licks which we just cant wait to bust out live. Just look at this man, he is serious!
Next is another new addition to In Death, and in the context of where we’re at now, the most important.
Rob Bartnik (above), or Bartbart (as he is known to us) has jumped on board, kicked ass and the band chemistry with him in the mix has never been better. The relationship on guitar between him an Ray is exciting to watch as it develops, and we know exactly where we’re headed now, and it’s a great feeling to have direction again.
Welcome aboard Bartbart! You are one mad bastard!
In Death… only managed a handful of shows for 2011 (6 in fact), mainly due to losing guitarist and original member Baz. It was after he left that Ray jumped on board, and thus, our official comeback was not until the 23rd of july. It was a great show with a lot of energy and booze, put on by some of coolest cats we have worked with, Dave & co at Epic Radio, they do great things for independant music, and you should all definately check them out at: http://www.epicradio.net/
We also enters the Emergenza band competition, which had the potential to send us to Germany to play, but more importantly in the short term, gave us the opportuniity to showcase our wares in a wold class venue with world class sound and equipment. So that was fun, shows weren’t too bad, decent crowds, good responses. The second of these shows is pretty much where Nate quit the band, so forgive me if I don’t sound too enthusiastic. It was a bummer when that became apparrent.
Wedged between the 2 Hi-Fi gigs for Emergenza was another rad weekend weekend on the 2nd and 3rd of september where we smashed up The Jubilee hotel on the Friday, got up at sparrow-fart, jumped on a plane, and fucked off to Adelaide for Chonkfest, a showcase of Australia’s up and coming metal talent (See our previous Chonkfest post). The crowd was dissapointing, but the networking opportunities were amazing, and we caught up with some old mate’s in DD’s (Double Dragon) & Deprivation. And made some new mates too, among them, the Illcontent guys, and Exurthur (check the links motherfuckers)

Fuck Myspace, it’s useless these days. RN is where it’s at!
Now be sure to keep yours eyes peeled for some big announcements coming soon regarding gig dates (with all of the affore mentioned bands) & a new In Death recording! We have some killer new material we cant wait to show off!!!
