Right! It’s time for us to reveal some more details regarding our upcoming release “Thanatos”

Official release date is the 23rd of March. We’ll be taking pre-orders, but we’ll cover that at a later date, info/shinfo first!

First, the title: “Thanatos” was first put forward by our resident bass monster Danika “D-Ball” Ruohonen. The meaning behind it is two fold. Firstly, as per Greek mythology, Thanatos is the daemon personification of death. It also has relevance to post Freudian psychology, which in that context is the term given to the “death drive” in which people are compelled to take unnecessary risks, or engage in self destructive behaviour. Either way, we think it fits our band and this release perfectly!

We’ve split our tour into two halves and there are many more dates to be announced for the 2nd half of the year and more regional dates to be added to this first half of the national tour, so keep your pant’s on and let us know if you want to see us come and burn your town to the ground. Groove Metallers Get Their Man

Brisbane based groove/death
metallers In Death… have released a
statement regarding their upcoming, as yet untitled EP, set for release in
January 2013. The EP will feature 6 tracks; 5 all new material, and a
re-recorded version of an old fan favourite.

Vocalist Kell ‘Krugga’
Pressnell explains, “Why a press release for a release date that’s so far away?”

“We really feel and
hope that this announcement and probably more so, the final product will have a
real and positive flow-on effect for Australian metal acts and their endeavours
to make world class, kick ass metal music. We hope to re-inforce that Aussie
bands belong on the world metal map!”

 “We are extremely excited and proud to
announce that our new material will be mixed and mastered by none other than
the legendary Logan Mader! This man
is, in part, responsible for many of the biggest and best metal albums over the
last 18 plus years.” – Bassist, Danika Ruohonen.

The band’s two axemen have
both been influenced heavily by the work of Logan Mader. “Logan is the top of the pile, best of the best, plain
and simple. This EP is gonna kick huge amounts of ass!” – Rob ‘Baht’ Bartnik.
Ray ‘Rah Rah’ Temperley, goes on to say: “Logan is partly responsible for me
first picking up a guitar and wanting to play. From the moment I started, I had
always hoped to work with Logan, he represents the gold standard.”

“In Death is a band with great potential. I’m looking forward to
working on their EP”

Vocalist ‘Krugga’ also
says: “We’ll wrap up pre-production within the next week, so the next phase is
where the real work begins. Having Logan on board is such a massive boost, and
rather than feeling any pressure, this will spur us on to create an absolute
fucking monster release! To be only the second Australian band to have the
opportunity to work with Logan is a huge honour for us. We just can’t wait for
people to hear this new material, and hear what we can really do! We’ll be

The songs are coming along great, sounding heavy and we really can’t wait to release this to the masses. The big, relentless sound of In Death…

is really burtsing out of the pre-pro rooms and we are all extremely excited about what we are hearing and also the positive comments coming through from those getting involved with the project.

We are surrounding ourselves with great people this time with plenty of exprience including some world class engineers who are on top of the game. Details of who to be announced soon.
